Amilcar Yagarí Siagama

Amilcar Yagarí Siagama was the former governor and leader of the Embera Chamí indigenous community. He was also a member of the Guardia Indígena and was, at the time of his death, acting as spokesperson for the region.

He was shot dead on the evening of 28.05.2018 in El Dovio, north of Valle del Cauca, close to his home in the Jai Kera Wera community. He was captured by two hooded men and shot four times.
