The life of Édgar Bravo González, community leader Del Barrio, ended with a shot in the forehead. This crime happened during the morning of the 27 April 2014 when an armed man came into his house and shot him.

His body was found by two men who arrived minutes after the attack, and immediately notified the authorities. Witnesses say that he was killed so he would not testify in court about a housing subsidy scam in the local municipality.

In 2013, Bravo González had survived an earlier attempt on his life allegedly orchestrated by the named person against whom he was due to give evidence, and who at the time of the killing was under house arrest pending trial.
