Luis Albeiro Guetio Zetti

Luis Albeiro Guetio Zetti, was the indigenous governor of the Nasa people.

He died when an unknown gunman, wearing dark clothing and a military cap arrived at the house and opened fire. Luis Albeiro tried to escape but the gunman followed him and shot him twice.

Luis Albeiro began his work for the indigenous community when he was 15 years old, and after more than 30 years of work, he was the most recognized leader in his community.

Among his achievements are the strengthening of the city council and the unification of the councils of all the Nasa communities.

Before his death, he worked to strengthen the educational system of his community, by recruiting bilingual teachers in the local schools.

He is survived by his wife and 6 children.
