Luis Arturo Royet Franco

Luis Arturo Royet was president of his local Community Action Board (Junta de Acción Comunal) and well-regarded for his ability to voice the needs of the people it served. He was killed when two men on a motorcycle kidnapped him from his home in San José de Uré. Relatives who witnessed the incident said that within minutes, several shots were fired.

The local police tried to find the whereabouts of those responsible, but so far there is no certainty as to their location and identities.

The crime was widely condemned and the Government of Córdoba issued a press release in which it demanded that investigations comply with the highest standards.
