Mohamed Bedaiwi Ash-shammari

Mohamed Bedaiwi Ash-shammari, journalist, editing manager of Free Iraq radio and a university professor, was shot to death on Saturday, March 22, 2014 by an officer of the Iraqi presidential guard.

Mohamed’s murder was regarded by the Prime Minister as a criminal act of misconduct, Nouri Almaliki, and the perpetrator was arrested, but a deeper investigation has not been conducted.

Mohamed was an active defender of human rights and had a senior role on various editorial boards in several media institutions.
