Wilson Rodriguez

Wilson and Adrian Rodríguez were shot dead on Sunday, November 23, 2014 around 5:30PM when they were returning from feeding the homeless migrants that live in the municipal dump of Tequixquiac. Wilson was a former migrant from Honduras, and together with Adrian, his partner, he had been helping other migrants by providing them with food and denouncing the gross violations of human rights perpetrated by the Mexican authorities in the region of Tequixquiac.

Wilson and Adrian were active members of Colectivo Ustedes Somos Nosotros, an organisation that aims to provide food and humanitarian assistance to migrants travelling through the regions of Tequixquiac and Huehuetoca, Mexico. A couple of months before their murder, Wilson and Adrian had denounced to authorities that several gang members were robbing migrants in the dump. After this, they started receiving death threats from gang members, who are believed to be the perpetrators of the crime.

Adrian died on the spot, while Wilson was transferred to the hospital, were he died a few hours later.
