Juan Carlos Cruz Andara was an activist and campaigner for LGBT rights. He worked as a journalist and social communicator in the TV channel Teleport, in the Atlantic coast of Honduras.
Juan Carlos, was murdered the 22nd of June 2015 inside his residence in the municipality of Puerto Cortés, department of Cortés.
He was attacked with a knife, repeatedly stabbed. Four months before his death, Juan Carlos had denounced to the National Police death threats from unknown persons.
