On 30th March 2017, human rights defender and teacher Juan José Hernandez Alcino was killed by unknown assailants in Pinotepa Nacional Centre in Oaxaca.
Early in the morning around 3:00am on 30th March 2017, while Alcino was riding his motorbike towards his house he was suddenly stopped by armed assailants who fired on him causing his immediate death.
Hernandez Alcino was an eminent professor and active member of Education Workers National Syndicate in the section 22.
