Javier Salinas García

Fire fighter Javier García Salinas, second Inspector of the Heroic Fire Department of Mexico City, was part of a movement that sought to form a new fire fighters union. He was shot to death in Mexico City on 8 June 2018.

Javier was in a legal dispute with Ismael Figueroa, ex-leader of the firemen’s union and candidate for local deputy for District 11 of the coalition ‘For the CDMX to the Front’. Through the Twitter account “Bomberos CDMX: @HCBCDMX” a video message was shared in which Javier Salinas blamed Ismael Figueroa Flores for any foul play that might target him and his relatives in the future. “I hold Ismael Figueroa responsible for what happens to me or my family”, were the words expressed by the fire fighter.

The material author has already been identified and is in prison, along with a second man who accompanied him.
