Héctor Janer Latín

As confirmed by the indigenous authorities of the north Cauca region, Héctor Janer Latín was killed on the 30.03.2018. He was a social activist and a member of the La Madre Tierra organization in Corinto.

He was shot when travelling from Corinto to El Guanábano on his motorcycle. Unknown men forced him to stop, shot him and drove away on his motorcycle. They left Héctor’s wallet and cellphone behind.

Shortly before the incident, there was a military stop in the same place.

The case is still being investigated by the police. The national army has yet to express its position in this regard.
