According to official information, on Tuesday, June 17 2018, Eduardo Herrera left his farm ‘Las Brisas’ located in the village of Las Delicias, heading to San Juan de Lozada, where he apparently intended to carry out an application for a loan. However, his family did not hear from him again, until the next day, when they were notified of his death.

At 5:30 pm on Wednesday, villagers who were traveling through the disputed area of Caquetá and Meta, apparently found the body of Herrera, who had been shot twice in the head. Local people have been shocked by this latest brutal killing and immediately notified the relevant authorities in San Juan de Losada.

The body of Eduardo was transferred to the Local Hospital of San Vicente del Caguán, pending inspection by the competent authorities, who were responsible for determining the cause of death. And later, the deceased was handed over to his relatives, for Christian burial.

Eduardo Herrera, was well known in the local community because he was part of the Community Action Board of the village and was a Prosecutor. Local people are left in a state of shock as there is at least one killing in the area every week.
