Valdenir Juventino Izidoro, 50 years, leader of the land rights organization “Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra – MST”, aka “Lobo”, was murdered on Monday morning, the 5th of June, 2017, in Ouro Preto do Oeste, Rondonia.

He was shot at point-blank range in the back right in the entrance of the farm where he worked. His family tried to rescue him but Valdenir was already dead when they got to Rondominas Health Center.

As aN MST leader, Valdenir “Lobo” organized land occupations around the area of Triangulo Farm (Trianon) but he wasn’t the only community leader murdered in the area.
