Antônio José Mig Claudino

Antônio José Mig Claudino, 57 years old, leader of an indigenous land occupation in Ronda Alta, Rio Grande do Sul, was murdered on the 20th of March, 2017.

Antônio was drinking with other indigenous men in a bar located inside the indigenous land when a man got out of a car, approached Antônio and shot him dead. He was hit 5 times in his neck and in the back of his head, while the other was grazed by a bullet.

The police officer in charge of the case said there is a land dispute in the region and that the circumstances of the death indicate it was an execution.
