Unfortunately, little information is made available surrounding the death of Subramanian. What is known, however, is that Subramanian, from Vellore, Tamil Nadu in India, was killed in 2017 while fighting for land rights.
Subramanian is one of many Dalit activists that is fighting, and dying, for human rights within India’s rigid caste system that sees many activists killed with impunity.
