Libio Chilito

Libio Chilito was a community leader and treasurer of the Junta de Accion Communal, (Community Action Board) in the village of El Mango in Argelia, Cauca. He was dedicated to developing the economic life of the community and had a special interest in helping young people and children.

At around 11.30pm on 21 November, 2020, a group of gunmen opened fire on a group of people standing outside a discotheque in the village of El Mango in the municipality of Argelia, and opened fire, shooting indiscriminately. Libio and four other people were killed and five others were injured.

Just hours after the Argelia massacre, ten people were killed in an early-morning attack in a coffee plantation in  Betania, Antioquia. The victims were harvesting coffee when they were attacked, with at least three more injured.
