Four people from the same family were murdered in the Lago Verde settlement, in the municipality of Baião, state of Pará.

Isaura Alves Muniz was 39 years old and the matriarch of the family. Her husband Raimundo Nonato Muniz, 42, and children Tatiane Alves Muniz (20) and Tiago Alves Muniz (18) were also murdered on that day.

According to reports, five men arrived at dawn at the family home and ordered everyone to leave and lie on the ground. After the family left the house, all were killed with shots to the head.

There were seven people in the house at the time of the crime, the 4 adults who were murdered, a 1 year and 7 months old baby, an 11 year old child and a 15 year old. The minors were threatened with being killed if they told what they had witnessed. After killing the family, their house was burned.

The family was against the illegal deforestation that happened in the area and the father, Raimundo Nonato Muniz, 42, had already denounced this fact to IBAMA.
