On April 2 2017 Eliver Buitrago Gutierrez was approached by strangers and murdered by three gun shot wounds while at work in Meta, Colombia. It is unknown to the police force and the community who killed him. In reaction to his death roads were blocked off in protest.
Eliver was the president of the Community Action Board of the area of Buenos Aires. His murder is the third among social leaders since the peace agreements began on December 1, 2016.
