A double crime was presented yesterday (28 November 2018) in the afternoon in Apure, township of Plato, moments after two brothers finished playing a game on a soccer field and one of these was confronted by by two assassins They arrived on a motorcycle. The victims were identified as Adelmo López Cortina and Mauricio López Cortina, president of the Local Communal Action Board.

Of this event that has frightened the inhabitants of this town it was known that two men on a motorcycle came to where a group of people were and asked for Adelmo López Cortina, and when they found him, the hitman came to where he was and shot him several times.

When he saw what was happening, Mauricio López Cortina, tried to disarm the murderer of his brother, but in the middle of the struggle was repeatedly hit, being badly wounded.

After the attack, the killers fled the scene on their motorbike , while the López Cortina brothers were helped by people who were in the vicinity.

The victims were taken in two vehicles to the Fray Luis de León de Plato Hospital, but they entered the emergency room without vital signs.

Councilman Hector Lopez, brother of the deceased said he was hurt by this tragedy, this because he does not understand how in peacetime these events occur. “Today I ask the authorities to take action on the matter. This can not happen anymore in our municipality, “said the official.
