“Agudo Quillio, 52, a resident of Purok Gemilina, Sitio Lawaan, Barangay Kingking Pantukan Compostela Valley and the chairperson of Hugpong sa mga Mag-uuma sa Pantukan (HUMAPAN) was shot dead by armed elements under the 46th infantry battalion around 6:30 in the evening of March 20, 2018.

Quillio was at his kitchen preparing for their dinner when 3 assailants forcibly entered their house and immediately headed to Quillio and shot him multiple times in his chest resulting in his immediate death.

Agudo Quillio was a staunch anti-large scale mining in the area and has strongly opposed the operation of St. Augustine Mining Limited and Kingking Pantukan Mining. He was also an active supporter of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations in the region in their struggle for genuine agrarian reform.

HUMAPAN is a municipal peasant organization in Pantukan town and under the provincial peasant organization, Hugpong sa mga Mag-uuma sa Walog Compostela (HUMAWAC), an affiliate organization of Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas- Southern Mindanao Region”
