“31 year-old active NAMASUFA-NAFLU-KMU striker-member Dannyboy Bautista was shot by two hitmen four times today around 6 PM resulting to his immediate death at the Compostela public market in Compostela Valley Province.

Bautista, together with 800 banana workers, are presently striking against Sumifru Phils due to labor dispute. This incident was preceded by a brutal dispersal of the strikers on October 18 and killing attempts to 7 NAMASUFA leaders.”

It was further noted that similar protesters had received a series of anonymous threats due to their activism.
