Jorge Miguel Polanco Ávila

Jorge Miguel Polanco Ávila, social leader and farmer, had already left the post of president of the Community Action Board of Caño Prieto when he was killed on 03/25/2018. He died a few minutes after another social leader, Víctor Alfonso Zabala Oviedo, who was also murdered in the same municipality of Caucasia, Antioquia.

Jorge Miguel was forcibly removed from his place of residence and transferred against his will to the rural part of ​​Caucasia, where he was murdered by men carrying long-range rifles. The attack was allegedly perpetrated by members of the Caparrapos gang.
