José Domingo Ulcué Collazos

On October 22, the ONIC and the Association of Indigenous Councils of Northern Cauca (Asociación Cabildos Indígenas del Norte del Cauca, ACIN) reported the murder of Jose Domingo Ulcue Collazos. José was a community teacher at the Munchique los Tigres indigenous reserve in Santander de Quilichao, Cauca.

Professor José Domingo Ulcué Collazos was murdered on Monday night in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao, department of Cauca (Colombia). So far, there have been 173  community leaders killed in Colombia in 2018.

Social organizations reported that the event took place between 19h30 and 20h00 (local time) while Ulcué Collazos was travelling by motorcycle. Some unidentified individuals shot him and wounded him in the chest.

Officials transferred him to the Francisco de Paula Santander hospital, but he died minutes later.

Ulcué Collazos was a teacher at the Benjamín Dindicué educational institution and taught, among other subjects,  ethics and social values​.
