Julio Cesar Urango Sánchez

Julio César Urango Sánchez (49) was shot by unknown killers on the 02.03.2018 in the rural zone of the municipality of Caucasia, in the  Tigre Tres village. Julio was an agricultural worker and an indigenous leader. The authorities have confirmed that another person was hurt in the shooting.

The president of the Indigenous Organization of Antioquia, Leonardo Domico, asked the authorities to take action as the persecution carried out in the region by illegal armed groups may result in massive displacement of indigenous communities.

The murder is still under investigation.
