Leonides Sequeña

Leonides Sequeña, better known as ‘Dennis’, was a trade union leader, the vice chairperson of Partido Manggagawa in Cavite and was running as the party’s 4th nominee for the party-list race during the 2019 midterm elections. He was shot several times by men riding a motorcycle, while he was giving a lecture on trade unionism on Sunday, June 2, 2019, less than a week before his birthday.

In recognition of his work in organizing laborers, asserting their rights and speaking against contractualization, attendants to a funeral march organized for Dennis, referred to him as “bayani ng manggagawa sa EPZA (hero of workers in the Export Processing Zone Authority).”
