Luis Carbajosa

Luis Carbajosa was a farmer and a caretaker of a banana plantation in Compostela Valley Province. He was also an active member of Hugpong sa mga Mag-uuma sa Mabini (HUMABIN) which serves their fellow farmers in their municipality.

On April 28, 2015 at around 6:30, Luis was shot by an unidentified man in their ‘sari-sari’ store. He sustained 18 gunshot wounds resulting in an instantaneous death.

His wife believes that he was killed because of his active political participation on land rights and plight of the farmers. She was also told by her husband that he was threatened by the 71st Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army that he was listed in their ‘Order of Battle’ List.
