Marco Antonio Pazuengo Salazar

On 03 of January 2017, the social leader Marco Antonio Pazuengo Salazar, 37 years old was shot dead by national police agents during a group protest in San Diego Ocoyoac, in Mexico City.

According to Julia Juárez, street vendor coordinator, Pazuengo Salazar was protesting against the rising price of fuel and as he was escaping the violence of the police security agents, he received several bullets which has caused his immediate death. According to witness reports the demonstration that took place in a petrol station located next to the Pantheon Mexico – Tacuba was totally peaceful, until the police arrived.
