Miguel Ceballos

Miguel Ceballos was a renowned social and community leader. He was a spokesperson for human rights and was a member of the San Isidro Community Action Board. He also worked in illegal crop substitution with the community and was a representative for land restitution. He was murdered on 21 October in his home located in a rural area of the municipality of La Montañita, Caquetá.

Octavio Collazos, vice president of the Human Rights Committee of Caquetá and social leader said, “Miguel Ceballos was the treasurer of the San Isidro Community Action Board, he was also a peasant leader, he fought for land restitution, he was a human rights representative and we are saddened that these cases keep happening in our country and in our region”.
