Mohan Waghmare

Mohan Waghmare was a Right to Information (RTI) activist, which means that he fought against corruption by filing applications under the country’s 2005 Right to Information Act. He lived in the city of Yavatmal in Maharashtra, India and was an eyewitness to an attack on fellow RTI user Digambar Pajgade, who is also active in the Yavatmal.

Mohan was found murdered in his home in late February 2017 and his case appears to remain unsolved. While very little information about Mohan and his murder is publicly available, there are no known motives aside from his activism and knowledge about the attack on his colleague.

Mohan was 48 years of age . He was married with two children.
