Luis Carlos lived in the Berlin neighbourhood of sector 4 of the Malvinas area east of Florencia. He was the president of the Community Action Board, much loved and respected by all his acquaintances thanks to the fight he was carrying out against the injustices in the city and his work to defend the rights of the community of the Berlin neighbourhood at all costs.

Unidentified people who were travelling on a motorcycle killed Luis Carlos Cabrera, as he was travelling home on his motorcycle.

The community leader was shot several times, which caused his death as he was being transferred to a clinic in Florencia. The authorities are operating on the basis of several hypotheses that could be related to the killing of the communal leader.

So far this year, two community leaders have been killed in Caquetá and others have been target of threats by strangers. So far the authorities in the region have not determined the cause of this new act of violence against social leaders.
