Eugenio Lopez y Lopez was an active member of ‘San Gregorio Piedra Parada Estate Former Workers‘ movement‘ a movement created in 2008 whose objective was to defend the rights of its members who were entitled to their social security, but in fact, this money which in reality has been collected by the authorities of the company San Gregorio Piedra Parada Estate has never been transfer social security. As consequence, Mr Lopez y Lopez with his colleagues have never been paid the social security at their retirement. It is in this context that the group of former workers have undertaken this action of peaceful protest in order to claim their rights.

Here is the opportunity to pay tribute to a hero of human rights defenders whose contribution to the defence of the rights of the voiceless will remain forever in the history.
