After the death of two youth from Ixmiquilpan, during a confrontation with federal police trying to remove a blockade caused by protests against the increase in the price of gasoline, the governor of Hidalgo, Omar Fayad said that these deaths should not go unpunished and that those responsible should respond to justice, «fall, who falls.»
«I have given very clear instructions for these regrettable facts to be thoroughly investigated,» he told a news conference.
He added that there is no protest that justifies the loss of human lives. «And I will not tolerate violence as governor, wherever it comes from, we will get to the bottom of this and those responsible will have to respond to justice.»
On January 5, the young Alan Giovani Gutiérrez Contreras, from the community of Dios Padre and Fredy Cruz García, a native of Maguey Blanco, died after being hit by a firearm during the confrontation with elements of the Federal Police.
«My deepest condolences to the relatives, to the loved ones of both Alan Giovanni and Fredy Cruz, I express my deepest respect to the pain that today overwhelms them for the irreparable loss of their loved ones,» said Omar Fayad.
Both Fredy Cruz and Alan Giovanni «were young people with a future and today stand as victims of an event that hurts and unworthy above all because the violence should never have been present,» the president added.
