Social leader James Luis Jimenez Estrada was killed on the morning of the 20th of April 2018, in the town Santa Rosa de San Pedro de Urabá, while staying at his brother’s house.
James was a president of the Junta de Acción Comunal in Cacahual, in the village San Vicente del Congo in the Turbo municipality. He was known in his community for being knowledgeable in the area of land registry processes, land restitution and replacement of illicit crops.
He was taken from his brother’s house, tortured and killed.
Human rights organizations appealed to State Prosecutor Office to ensure that the authors and the perpetrators of this crime are punished.
