On July 22, 2018, Ismauro Fátimo dos Santos, known as Paraná, 49, was shot dead inside his vehicle, near Porto Velho, Rondônia, Brazil. Isamauro was shot 4 times, three times in his head and once in his arm, resulting in his instant death.
He was travelling with a woman, a eight years old child, and his 16 year old daughter, who was also shot. The unknown murderers were aboard a motorcycle.
Ismauro used to live at «Área Paulo Freire 4» and supported the land occupation (Enilson Ribeiro).
According to the police, there have been several land occupations in this area in recent years.
