Iván Lázaro died at the hands of armed men in his home located in a rural area of Puerto Libertador. This is the sixth homicide against leaders in that area of Cordoba in 2018.

The peasants of the corregimiento of Juan José, Puerto Libertador, protested with white t-shirts and flags the killing of social leader Iván Lázaro, murdered in his own home in the village of Rogero. He was secretary of the Community Action Board and in charge of sports affairs.

Lazarus was resting on the bed of his room, in a wooden house, when he was surprised by a gunman who did not give him time to react. The Association of Farmers of the South of Córdoba declared itself in mourning and organised this mass protest against this latest killing in their community.
