Mutebwa Kaboko

Mutebwa Kaboko was abducted by a group of armed men. Eight days after, his body was found in a forest overlooking the town of Makama.

He was an active member of Aide Rapide aux Victimes des Catastrophes (ARVC), an organisation that promotes human rights by providing help to disaster victims. ARCV also led a campaign against the practice of forced marriage of young boys and girls.

As part of his work, Mutebka used to report human rights abuses committed by the GA, the PNC (Congolese National Police) and even the FARDC (DRC armed forces). He also reported the human rights abuses committed by local armed groups such as the Mai-Mai Yakutumba, a group that a few months before his death, kidnapped and held him prisoner in the forest for five days.

In 2013, he was nominated satellite leader in the locality, supervising 13 other localities surrounding Makama region.
