“Rolly Panebio, 46, an active member of Compostela Farmers Association (CFA) was shot dead by suspected agents of 66th infantry battalion around 10:30pm of August 18, 2018

Rolly was on his way out of Salupongan school in Barangay Bango Compostela town after his shift when two (2) unidentified gunmen onboard of single motorcycle forcibly took and brought him meters away from the said school and shot Rolly to death.

Rolly volunteered to be a security guard of Salupongan Ta Tanu Igkanugon Community Learning Center in Bango to contribute to the collective efforts of the community for the education of their children. He was also visible in several activities initiated by his group CFA”

Importantly, Panebio was alleged to be have been an active member the unarmed defending of Lumad and farmer land alike against the encroaching Agusan Petroleum mining company.
