Samuel Gallo, a social leader from Antioquia, was attacked and killed by two men with a knife as he was leaving the vets where he worked. The leader worked as a vet in the municipality of Peñol and also studied law. He was known for having complained about corruption in the municipality and was recognised for his community leadership.
According to initial reports, two young men committed the crime, both of which have been arrested. One of the young men is a minor.
A family member confirmed that Samuel had said that he was being followed and that he was worried about the complaints of corruption in the mayor’s office that he had recently made.
