Carlos Alberto Barón Martinez, 41, was a prominent leader of « junta de acción comunal de la vereda Tunjuaque », located in Cundinamarca department, and his life was taken on 08, October, 2018.

On the day before his death, Carlos was working on a farm located in the Calera Municipality (region where he was also well known ) and according to some sources he was a passionate man, devoted to the community work itself.

The community leader had left his home on foot, at approximately 7:30 am, towards Calera, when suddenly a men aboard a motorcycle drove up and stabbed him several times.  Carlos was taken to the Hospital Divino Salvador, although he died a few hours later.

According to the new agency called « Noticias dia a dia » the murderer was captured (identified as FN Pinzón Gutiérrez). However. there isn’t any information regarding if the he has been condemned or not (in practice it is still unresolved).
